How To Play the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta Early

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is getting its official beta this August. That’s a few months away, but if you want to try out the game earlier than that, there’s currently one way to do it. Thanks to a partnership between publisher Activision and cable company Comcast, some lucky fans will get a chance to see the game and all it has to offer earlier than that. Playing Call of Duty early is always a boon, right? You know it is, and here’s how you can go about doing it.

Starting today, you can register for the opportunity to be invited to Comcast’s Xfinity Store to play the game in July. Eight cities, including Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, Houston, Seattle, Chicago, Indianapolis and Atlanta will be part of the promotion. According to Comcast’s Mark Cruz, the beta is an opportunity for fans who didn’t go to E3 to try the game early.

“We look at the sweepstakes as an opportunity for fans who didn’t make it to E3 to also get a preview of the game,” Cruz said. “For us, we thought it was important to get as many people as possible to play the multiplayer beta, so we spread it across the country as best as we could based on Activision’s ability to provide the experience as well.”

About 40 fans will be invited to private events, with each winner allowed to bring a friend for the experience, though the times and dates for each event will vary.

If this sounds like a sweet deal to you, make sure you register for the event, on the off chance you get lucky and have your name drawn. That way you’ll be playing the game well in advance of everyone else. The game launches October 12 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One, so you’d be getting quite an advanced look at things, making you the envy of all your friends.
