Following today’s official announcement of Call of Duty: Warzone by Activision, the hotly anticipated Modern Warfare battle royale game will be available to download and play tomorrow. However, the exact time that you’ll be able to download Call of Duty: Warzone differs by timezone. Furthermore, if you already own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, you’ll be able to download early.
When You’ll be Able to Download Call of Duty: Warzone
If you don’t already own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, then you’ll be able to start downloading Call of Duty: Warzone for free when the game goes live tomorrow. That will occur at the following different times around the world: 12:00 PM PDT; 15:00 PM EDT; 16:00 PM BRT; 19:00 PM GMT; 20:00 PM CET; 22:00 PM MSK. If you’re in the KST, JST, or AEDT timezones, note that Warzone will actually be launching early in the morning of the 11th of March; 04:00 AM KST/JST; 06:00 AM AEDT.
Note that if you don’t already own Modern Warfare, then Warzone will require a download of between 83-101 GB. As such, you should anticipate a lengthy download process. Of course, it’s worth noting that Warzone is likely to be in very high demand. As such, players should probably anticipate networks slowing down somewhat as many players attempt to download all at once.
If you already own a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, then you’ll be able to download Warzone four hours earlier than the times stated above. (The game will instead be available to download at 08:00 AM PDT, for instance.) Additionally, rather than downloading via your platform of choice’s online store, you can download directly through Modern Warfare. Once Warzone launches, Modern Warfare’s Main Menu panel which currently reads “Classified” will give you the option to start downloading the new game.
Because much of the data required to play Warzone is already in Modern Warfare, the overall download is also much smaller; it should only be around 18-22 GB in size (less than one quarter of the full size). Of course, what with high demand, it may still be a somewhat slow process. However, it should nevertheless be far quicker than for those who don’t already own Modern Warfare.
