The Huge New Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 is Now Available

The long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2, which was delayed last month following a major cyber-attack against CD Projekt Red, has finally arrived. The new patch rolled out across all platforms earlier today, and is quite a considerable update at around 35 GB!

Key Features of Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2

Today’s Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 is the largest post-launch update to come to the game since its troubled release, and promises to address several of its biggest problems. Major changes have been made to, for instance, the way that the NCPD spawns when players commit a crime; no longer will the police spawn directly behind players with unerring accuracy! Additionally, the patch includes a major overhaul of vehicle steering. Arguably the largest part of the update, this overhaul includes a range of new driving controls and settings. This should be especially noticeable for driving on old-gen consoles, according to CD Projekt Red.

The expansive full patch notes for Patch 1.2 are now available to read on the game’s website. The list includes bug fixes as well as fixes for various exploits and glitches. For instance, an exploit had been allowing players to avoid fall damage by sliding when they hit the ground. That exploit has been removed, so players should take newfound care when jumping from high vantages!

Of course, while this patch is substantial, it will not be enough to fix all of Cyberpunk 2077’s many issues. However, Patch 1.2 does make a good deal of progress towards that goal. Fans of the game despite its flaws can only hope that future updates deliver similar results. In the meanwhile, CD Projekt Red has sensibly chosen to delay development of planned DLC and Free-LC content, in favour of focusing on updates. As a result, it’s currently unknown when that sort of post-launch content will eventually arrive. For the time being, it’s likely that the studio will continue to prioritise updates and bug-fixes. However, the release of smaller free content expansions might not be too far off, aimed at earning back some goodwill from the community.
