Joel Embiid, CJ McCollum Get New NBA 2K19 Playoffs Moments Cards in MyTeam
It’s been a wild NBA Playoffs installment in 2019 and LeBron James isn’t even amongst the participants. That has left room for new memorable moments and playoff stars to arrive. In a recent postseason game involving four overtimes, one of those stars now joins the NBA 2K19 MyTeam Playoffs Moments cards lineup. CJ McCollum, Jamal Murray, and Joel Embiid are just three of the newest cards gamers can now acquire in the game.
MyTeam Playoffs Moments cards highlighted by Embiid, McCollum
In the postseason, a number of players have come up big, but one man who often dominates is Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid. In Game 3 of the East semifinals series with Toronto, Embiid scored 33 points and grabbed 10 boards. He also recorded five blocks and dished out three assists. That’s good enough to give Embiid a brand new NBA 2K19 MyTeam Playoffs Moments card. In fact, he’s one of three new MyTeam Pink Diamond cards.
The two other PDs go out to players involved in another grueling series. Just days ago, the Portland Trail Blazers outlasted the Denver Nuggets in four overtimes to win Game 3, 140-137. One of the main stars in that game was Portland’s CJ McCollum with 41 points on 16 for 39 shooting. McCollum also achieved eight rebounds, four assists, four steals, and a block in his night of work. That has netted him one of the new NBA 2K19 Playoffs Moments cards.
Point guard Jamal Murray led the way in that game for the Nuggets with 34 points, albeit in a losing effort. Just last night, Murray came back with another team-leading performance. The Nuggets guard had 34 points once again to go with five boards, and four assists. Murray also hit clutch free throws down the stretch in the 116-112 victory. That series is now 2-2 as they’ll go to a Game 5 to put one team ahead.
In addition to the Pink Diamond cards, gamers can now find an Amethyst Eric Gordon and a Ruby George Hill card in the MyTeam Playoffs Moments packs. To purchase these, head over to the MyTeam Market. A single pack featuring five cards costs 6,500 Virtual Currency or 9,500 MT. These cards will be available in packs until May 13 at noon Pacific Standard Time (3 p.m. ET).
NBA 2K19 reveals new Dynamic Duos
The new Playoffs Moments cards weren’t all that NBA 2K19 revealed on Monday. In addition, they’ve indicated brand new Dynamic Duos are live in the game. These latest cards are for players that MyTeam wishes played together. In the featured example below, they show off the duo of point guard Penny Hardaway and shooting guard Tracy McGrady. The two players were Orlando Magic All-Stars who never played on the same team together.
There are nine other new Dynamic Duo pairings revealed in the game. Some of these pairings have happened or are happening. They include the likes of OKC’s Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka, Christian Laettner and Grant Hill, as well as John Havlicek and Bill Russell. Other pairings include Tim Hardaway with Alonzo Mourning, Dale Ellis with Xavier McDaniel and Lou Williams with Montrezl Harrell.
The way that Dynamic Duos work is that if you have the specific card type for the two players and use these guys on the court together, they’ll get a boost. So for example, gamers that have the Pink Diamond Throw Back Moments Hardaway and PD HOF McGrady will see this work. Each player card has an initial rating of 97 which increases to a 98 when they’re together. The exception for these comes with players that have a 98 card in the Duos as they won’t move any higher than 98.
