Large Battles Should Play More Smoothly on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett

Large battle should be among the most exciting events in single and multiplayer video games. Frequently, they can be. But nothing is more frustrating than getting to that big moment only to discover that the sheer number of enemies is overwhelming more than just your forces. It is also overwhelming your current gen console. Everything is laggy, jumping from frame to frame, and sometimes, the big battle might outright crash your console. Thankfully, those days may soon be behind us.

It Is Time for Smoother Large Battles on Next Gen Consoles

Why can we suppose that large battles will play better on next gen consoles? First of all, we already have evidence that the PS5 and the Xbox Scarlett will be ridiculously powerful. But now, we also have some comments from Omega Force director and producer Tomohiko Sho.

Commenting to TwinInfinite, Sho said, “The Warriors games, even if many just think of them as a bunch of characters fighting, are actually meant as battlefield simulation games. We’re really hoping that with the next generation of consoles we can really have that huge battle simulations with various armies on the field, and bring a realistic feel to it. We hope it’ll really show the true exhilarating feeling that you can get playing these games. This is what we hope to see.”

So, Sho is not positive whether large battles will play out more smoothly or not, but he does appear to be cautiously optimistic about the prospect. It is easy to relate to what he is talking about regarding “true exhilarating feeling.” Because it sure is hard to feel that when your game is sticking and jumping between frames, and you are just hoping you can get through the battle sequence without having to restart your console.
