The Latest Total War: Warhammer 2 Patch is Now Live

Following the release of The Hunter and The Beast DLC and Gotrek and Felix (who will be freely available to download tomorrow), Creative Assembly released a new Total War: Warhammer 2 patch; Patch 1.7.2. Initially, this patch was only available in an opt-in beta. Now, that patch is complete and available to everybody. It includes several bug fixes which address issues from the Empire Undivided rework, as well as new balance changes.

The New Total War: Warhammer 2 Patch

Empire Undivided was the name of the Old World Rework of the Empire which launched as a free update alongside The Hunter and The Beast DLC. As with any new content, there’s usually a few bugs lingering somewhere, and this latest Total War: Warhammer 2 patch addresses several of them. For example, when you declare war on an Elector Count, it will now always correctly result in an Imperial Authority penalty. A change has also been made so that Elector Counts who have high Fealty are now less likely to try to secede.

Most of the latest patch is, however, dedicated to balance changes. As is to be expected, most of these are directed towards the newest units from The Hunter and The Beast. Dread Saurians, for instance, have received a huge mass increase (+3000), as well as increased building damage. The howdah variant and Shredder of Lustria also now cost 100 less. All versions of Razordons have also gained a range boost and reload time reduction, among other changes. The new Lizardmen Legendary Lord Nakai the Wanderer now costs 100 less than before.

Over on the Empire side of things, War Wagons (including the Mortar variant) now cost less. However, their Regiment of Renown, The Black Lions, now cost 100 more. Meanwhie, Markus Wulfhart has had a reduction to projectile damage. In fact, his projectiles are now treated as arrows instead of artillery. This means that his shots don’t apply as steep a morale penalty. Plus, shields can now block them. His weapon, the Amber Bow, has also had a hefty damage reduction. (Not to mention a reduction to its explosion radius.) The Kill Shot, Executioner, and Hand of Gods abilities have also been debuffed in various ways.
