League Play in Black Ops Cold War

League Play offers gamers a more competitive arena in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Available through the new League Play menu, which you can find on the Mode Select screen, League Play features 30 different Ranks and a range of its own preset classes. (Though players can use their own custom loadouts too.) To start, players must complete five Placement Matches during their first League Play Event.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War League Play Now Available

Each week, there will be two League Play Events taking place in Black Ops Cold War. Weekday Events take place from Monday to Friday, while Weekend Events run from Friday to Monday. In each event, players compete to climb a Division Ladder, which earns you progress towards your next League Rank. The League’s Ladder system is based on that which was used in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4; the most-played competitive mode in Call of Duty history.

After completing your Placement Matches, you’ll find yourself in a Skill Division of around 50 players; people who should be around the same skill level as you. There are five Skill Divisions in total; Competitor (50% of all players), Advanced (the top 50%), Expert (the top 30%), Elite (the top 15%), and Master (the top 2%). With each win, you’ll earn Ladder Points, though you’ll also lose these with each defeat. A Win Streak Bonus is available for winning consecutive matches, as well as a Daily Bonus.

Custom loadouts are available for use in League Play. However, the League is governed by the CDL 2021 rules, and these do automatically restrict certain attachments. For players who want an experience closer to the professional scene, a CDL Pro mode offers the same preset League classes and gameplay rules as those used by the pro teams. Competing in League Play can earn you six unique Calling Cards and prestigious Victory Flames.
