League Play & Scorestreak Changes in Black Ops Cold War Season 2

With the recent launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2, Treyarch has made a few adjustments to League Play, in the hopes of providing some long-awaited improvements for competitive players. Chief amongst these are some noteworthy changes to Scorestreaks, with major cost reductions for both Artillery and Cruise Missile.

According to Treyarch, the studio is aiming for Season 2 League Play to give players greater freedom than before. (Without stepping outside the bounds of the official League rules, of course.) In Season 1, Scorestreaks in League Play evidently weren’t in the place that Treyarch wants for them; a sentiment which is shared widely among players. As such, Scorestreaks were the first area to receive changes with the launch of Season 2.

As of now, by default, players will only have access to two Scorestreaks in League Play; Artillery and Cruise Missile. Moreover, your earned score will now reset to zero upon death. However, to account for these tweaks, Treyarch has adjusted the cost of the two default Scorestreaks so that they don’t end up impossible for many players to acquire. The Cruise Missile, for example, has seen its cost drop from 3,500 to 2,000. Meanwhile, the cost of Artillery has fallen from 3,000 to just 1,600.

Alongside these Scorestreak adjustments, Season 2 League Play features a number of fixes which were finally implemented via a code fix during the launch of the season. Foremost among the bugs that should now be fixed were issues causing Create-a-Class loadouts to display incorrectly. Other problems include After Action Reports not appearing, for example, as well as Zombies camos incorrectly appearing as unavailable in players’ custom loadouts. Hopefully, these fixes have a widespread impact for fans of League Play. However, it will of course be the Scoresteak changes that really shift the League meta as Season 2 progresses.
