Madden 19 Tuner Update Tweaks Gameplay for Stamina, Defensive Run-Block, Fumbles, & More

After last week’s title update, the EA Sports’ Madden 19 developers released a tuner update for the popular football title. This is a tweak to coding rather than a major title update which takes longer. Gamers are now learning of several new gameplay tweaks that will affect specific aspects of the game in simulation, competitive, or all styles of play. Here’s a look at what they’ve changed for the new Madden 19 tuner update in terms of stamina, fumbles, interceptions, and more.

Madden 19 tuner update for Simulation

In the Simulation mode of Madden 19 gameplay (offline), EA adjusted the way a player’s stamina takes a hit. They indicate they have “reduced the stamina penalty” for Acceleration boost as well as One Cut. This will give more time using these before a player starts to become fatigued. It’s unknown how much of an adjustment was made for this aspect of the game.

Simulation mode also sees an adjacent for defensive-run block disengage angles. EA’s dev notes mention that they’ve moved it 30 percent back in the opposite direction when compared to the October Title Update’s tuning. In October, they made running the ball even easier than gamers expected. So the tweak will make the run slightly more difficult than before, but still not impossible.

Madden 19 tuning update for Competitive

For those who play Madden 19 in Competitive mode (online), the same adjustment is in place for the defensive run-block disengage angles. They’ll be 30 percent back in the opposite direction from the previous October tuning.

The dev team tweaked a few other aspects in the competitive mode. Defenders who have a catch rating at 60 or above will now be able to handle interceptions better. This will be noticeable when making an INT in an open space. EA noted that they decreased Interception Threshold’s level from the previous setting of 75. This will bring up the number of defenders who qualify for being able to handle those wide open interceptions during online games.

One other adjustment mentioned in this mode is the success chances for “multi-player aggressive catches.” Developers have reduced it by 60 percent, so keep that in mind when making these plays in the Competitive mode for the Madden 19 game.

Madden 19 tuning update for all Gamestyles, What’s needed still

The EA developers also noted that all modes of the game (Simulation, Competitive, and Arcade) received a tweak. Gamers who use the “Aggressive Ball Carrier” Coach Adjustment will have a 20 percent higher chance of fumbling as compared to before.

Gamers are already providing some feedback for what they believe another tuning update needs. One of the biggest complaints continuing to make its way to comments is repetitive plays. Basically, this refers to opponents using the same offensive or defensive play all game long to exploit a glitch.

As one commenter suggests, maybe EA needs to figure a way to penalize gamers who engage in these tactics. That could include kicking them out of the game with an automatic loss if they use the same play over a certain number of times. The good news is EA’s dev team indicates they pay attention to their community, so they may be working on this already.

Gamers, how do you feel about the latest changes? Which aspect of the Madden 19 gameplay do you still think needs to be fixed the most?
