Madden 20 DeAndre Hopkins, David Johnson Trade Gets Rejected By EA Game

Monday was a busy day as far as NFL trades go. Football fans saw a blockbuster deal arrive as former 99 Club member DeAndre Hopkins was sent from the Houston Texans to the Arizona Cardinals. On the other side of things, running back David Johnson now joins the Texans. There are now Madden 20 previews of these guys in their new team’s threads, but in a big surprise, the game didn’t like the trade.

Madden 20 DeAndre Hopkins trade preview

Shockwaves were sent through the NFL on Monday afternoon as ESPN and other sources announced a huge deal. Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will now catch passes in Arizona from Kyler Murray. He was traded along with a late-round pick for Cardinals running back David Johnson and a second-round pick.

Hopkins, who had been with the Texans since 2013, is a four-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. In the past season, he tallied 104 receptions for 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns. He was also one of the four players named to Madden’s 99 Club for the current game. As of right now, his rating sits at 98 OVR, as he’s second in terms of receivers only to Michael Thomas.

Just as with other traded players, the Madden 20 game gave a preview of Hopkins in his new Cardinals gear.

David Johnson will now help bolster the Houston Texans offense and take some of the focus off Deshaun Watson. Johnson played in 13 games and had 94 carries for 345 yards and two touchdowns. In his five seasons with the Cardinals, he’s got a career 781 carries, 3,128 yards, and 33 touchdowns.

Here he is on Madden 20 transforming from his old Cardinals jersey into his new Texans threads as he hurdles over defenders.

Madden rejected the trade, though?

It’s not the first time this has happened, and probably won’t be the last, but clearly something was off when it came to this deal. Madden 20 rejected the trade as Houston didn’t want David Johnson. A lot of fans agree, that the Texans made a bad deal. Just looking at the overall ratings of the two players, Houston gave up one of the best wide receivers in the NFL for a running back that is subpar as of this point in his career.

This wasn’t the only big move that took place on Monday or recently. The Baltimore Ravens added Calais Campbell, the Cleveland Browns got Austin Hooper, and the Indianapolis Colts got DeForest Buckner. Now Madden 20 fans are hoping that maybe there will be a roster update sometime soon to reflect these major moves.
