Madden 21 Patch Update 1.23 Adds 2021 Pro Bowl Rosters Ahead of Virtual Game

The new Madden 21 patch update 1.23 recently arrived with a lot less than the previous update released by EA. This one brings football video game fans the updated 2021 Pro Bowl rosters. That includes the recent Video Game Numbers Challenge winners. It’s now possible to simulate what could have been between the AFC and NFC squads, as the game won’t officially be held for this season.

Madden 21 Patch Update 1.23 features updated Pro Bowl rosters

With the NFL Playoffs in full swing, Madden 21 patch update 1.23 didn’t have a whole lot to offer on Friday, January 15. However, gamers who enjoy simulating matchups or testing out updated Pro Bowl rosters should be happy. They’ll now find the updated AFC and NFC rosters which include the Chiefs’ Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Eagles’ Miles Sanders.

The two halfbacks officially joined this year’s rosters thanks to a Video Game Numbers Challenge. Basically, fans were able to register votes for players from the AFC and NFC to join the roster. Edwards-Helaire and Sanders each scored the most touchdowns for their respective conferences, thanks to gamers.

A Madden NFL 21 Edition of the Pro Bowl will be presented by Verizon in lieu of this year’s game starting Sunday, January 31st at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

Interestingly, the AFC roster features former cover star Patrick Mahomes, who is the only Superstar X-Factor member for his side. The NFC features a total of five Superstar X-Factor players. They include the Cardinals’ DeAndre Hopkins, Bears’ Khalil Mack, Seahawks’ Russell Wilson, Packers’ Aaron Rodgers, and Saints’ Cameron Jordan.

In order to use the updated Pro Bowl rosters for Madden 21 patch update 1.23, simply launch the game and head into Exhibition on the main menu. Choose Pro Bowl, determine whether to control the AFC or NFC, and adjust settings. From there, enjoy the big game at a virtual Allegiant Stadium!

NFL’s annual game was canceled due to COVID-19

Back in mid-October, the NFL announced the cancelation of the 2021 Pro Bowl due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it was revealed there would still be voting to give players that annual recognition for their professional football resumes.

The game was originally set to take place on January 31 at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders. Since it was canceled, Las Vegas is tentatively set to host the 2022 Pro Bowl.

In addition to the Pro Bowl’s cancelation, the NFL didn’t have any preseason games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 NFL Draft took place virtually, rather than having players, personnel, and fans attend the annual event.

Meanwhile, voting took place for the 2021 Pro Bowl with Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes getting the nod as starting QB in the AFC. In the NFC, Aaron Rodgers was named a starter.

The Chiefs and Packers were the 2021 NFL Playoffs’ top seeds in the AFC, and NFC, respectively. Each had seven players named to the Pro Bowl, as did the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens.
