Madden 22 Player Ratings Update: Week 18 Performances Upgrade Dak Prescott, Cooper Kupp

As the NFL season has officially concluded, attention is turning towards the NFL Playoffs. The Wild Card Round will begin this coming weekend, with 12 teams in action. That’ll include the Dallas Cowboys in a Sunday night game, and the Los Angeles Rams in a Monday Night Football game. Star players Dak Prescott and Cooper Kupp are on a roll too, as they each received boosts in the Madden 22 player ratings update.

Madden 22 player ratings update arrives

Thursday, January 13th brought the latest ratings adjustment for EA’s Madden 22 game, and it saw Los Angeles Rams’ wide receiver Cooper Kupp get a nice boost. Kupp ended up with 118 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ 27-24 OT loss to the 49ers in Week 18. For the season, Kupp led all receivers with 1,947 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.

The Rams WR started the season as an 86 OVR, but has made the climb steadily in the Madden 22 player ratings. He’s now a 94 OVR. Next on the schedule, his fourth-seeded Rams host the Cardinals in Monday night’s Wild Card game.

To close out their season, the Dallas Cowboys throttled the Philadelphia Eagles, 51-26. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 295 yards on 21-of-27 completed passes with five touchdowns to lead the way. Due to that performance, he also received a one-point boost this week, going to 91 OVR in Madden 22.

Other rising players were revealed on Thursday including the Texans’ Danny Amendola, Seahawks Poona Ford, Browns’ D’Ernest Johnson, and 49ers’ Ambry Thomas. Unfortunately, only Thomas is heading to the playoffs this weekend, though.

Wentz, Cook amongst players downgraded

Real-game performances can hurt in several ways. Not only did Carson Wentz fall by a point in the Madden 22 player ratings update to 73 OVR, but his Colts fell out of a playoff spot.

That was due to Wentz’s poor performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18. He threw for only 185 yards and one TD, but also had a costly interception in the loss.

Also moving down is Vikings halfback Dalvin Cook, who has strung together dismal performances in Weeks 17 and 18. This past weekend he had only 82 total yards for Minnesota. In Week 17, it was just 1.4 yards per carry average, a far cry for a star of his caliber. That downgraded Cook by a point to a 95 OVR in the game.

The latest Madden player ratings update arrives ahead of a promo coming to Ultimate Team for the NFL Playoffs. In addition, EA recently revealed there will be fan voting for their Team of the Year, with nominees unveiled Friday, January 14.
