Madden 22 Superstar X-Factors Revealed for Quarterbacks Including Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes
EA has revealed the first of the Madden 22 Superstar X-Factors, showcasing the top quarterbacks in the game. Among them will be cover co-stars Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady, with many of the X-Factors from last year’s game returning. Here’s a look at which QBs have Superstar X-Factors so far.
Mahomes, Brady among QBs with Madden 22 Superstar X-Factors
The Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes recently topped the list of the top 10 quarterbacks in Madden 22 with his 99 rating. However, recent Super Bowl winner Tom Brady wasn’t too far behind him. With EA revealing Superstar X-Factors this week, they’re among the first players shown with these abilities in the upcoming game.
Mahomes will once again have Bazooka as his Superstar X-Factor. Once he’s successfully completed a pass of 30 yards or more, he’ll go “into the zone.” With that, Mahomes’ maximum throw distance increases. However, one sack from an opponent takes him out of the zone.
As for Mr. Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl winner has Pro Reads. This allows him to see his first open receiver highlighted and ignores any defensive pressure. To active it, gamers will have to throw three consecutive completed passes of five yards or more. A sack takes Brady out of the zone.
Rodgers, Jackson, Wilson also revealed
EA revealed three other quarterbacks with Madden 22 Superstar X-Factors, including the reigning NFL MVP. Aaron Rodgers appears to be returning to play for the Green Bay Packers, and he’ll have 99 Club member Davante Adams to throw to. His Superstar X-Factor is Gambler.
It gives Rodgers faster passes that can’t be picked off by AI defenders. To get into the zone, he needs to throw three consecutive completions of five yards or more. If Rodgers throws two incompletions, he’s taken out of the zone.
Also shown below are Madden 21 cover star Lamar Jackson and the Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson. LJ8 will once again get the Truzz for his Superstar X-Factor.
To activate that one, gamers need to have five rushing plays with Jackson of one yard or more. Then he’ll be in the zone and won’t fumble on rushing plays. However, if he’s tackled for a loss, that takes him out of the zone.
Russell Wilson gets the Blitz Radar which will highlight extra blitzers from the defense. To get into the zone, Wilson needs three scrambles of 10 yards or more. If Wilson is sacked twice, he’s taken out of the zone.

How do Madden 22 Superstar X-Factors work?
To activate the Superstar X-Factors, gamers need to get into the zone with the player based on the requirements mentioned above. The Madden 22 Superstar X-Factors are deactivated when specific plays happen such as sacks or incompletions.
In the Madden Ultimate Team mode, gamers got to choose to activate specific players with X-Factors or Superstar X-Factors. The X-Factors or Superstar X-Factors costed specific amounts of points, which gamers had to stay under. Typically, there were a certain number of player slots available for offense and defense, as well as special teams.
The Superstar X-Factors come into play in other modes too. Based on Franchise, The Yard, and Face of the Franchise Mode, X-Factors will be there as well.
EA’s Madden 22 arrives on August 20, 2021, for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Google Stadia.
