Madden NFL 20 Players: First 99 Club Member for New EA Game Revealed

Just yesterday, we learned some interesting news for when it comes to the Madden NFL 20 players in the upcoming EA game. Gamers saw a mysterious “mural” that popped up on Twitter. It revealed that only four NFL stars will have a 99 rating in Madden 20. The mural also showed just the outlines of the four players, leaving gamers to guess who they might be. As of Tuesday, we now know the first of the Madden NFL 20 players who is part of the exclusive “99 Club.”

DPOY is first of Madden 20 NFL Players in 99 Club

The mural now has one spot filled in by a player and it’s an imposing player at that. The first member of Madden 20’s 99 Club is Los Angeles Rams defensive star, Aaron Donald. This was one of our predicted 99 Club members for the Madden 20 game in our recent report, although it was a pretty easy one to guess ahead of the reveal.

Check out the mural via @TheCheckdown Twitter which shows the Rams star is now officially on the image. There’s also a preview video of Donald in Madden 20 as he takes down one of the league’s top quarterbacks.

Donald was the NFL’s 2018-19 Defensive Player of the Year on a Los Angeles Rams team that went to the Super Bowl. Thanks to 41 solo tackles, a league-leading 20.5 sacks and 41 quarterback hits, he’s one of the most intimidating defenders on the gridiron.

The 27-year-old has been a Pro Bowl selection every year of his career since 2014. He’s also a four-time First-Team All-Pro including last season. In addition to all that, Aaron Donald was one of the seven players that EA rated as a 99 overall in Madden 19 launched. So he carries that club membership into the new game, but will any of the others join him?

Aaron Donald’s top attributes revealed

Not only did they unveil the first of the Madden NFL 20 players in the special 99 Club, but EA also provided a report on Donald’s top skills. As Madden gamers are well aware, players bring a set of key attributes into the game, which can be rated anywhere from 0 (awful) up to 100 (great). No players hit the 100 level for any stats, but there are those select few who have attributes in the mid-to-high 90s. Some even get 99s.

Donald is one of them due to his defensive abilities. He’ll have a 99 for both his Strength and Power Moves. Based on EA’s report, that makes him best in the game in those two areas. His 98 Pursuit also is the best of all Madden 20 NFL Players. Donald ranks second-best for Block Shedding (97) and Finesse Moves (96). Basically, he’s one tough defender for many reasons, and deserving of that 99 Club membership.

Of course, that brings up the obvious question as to who is best in those two categories that Donald isn’t. One would have to think the Chicago Bears’ Khalil Mack will soon be joining Mr. Donald as part of the Madden 99 Club.

Our guess is that there are two defensive players and two offensive players. Since Mack joined the 99 Club during the past season, it makes sense he will probably bring that rating to the new game. However, we’ll have to wait until Wednesday to see which of the Madden 20 NFL players is the next reveal for the mural.

Stay tuned as we’ll have the details as soon as they arrive at our Madden news page.
