Madden NFL 21 Classic Details: Final Registration and Upcoming Tournament Dates for PS4, Xbox One
The Madden Championship Series provides the best pro gamers on the planet a chance to compete for notoriety and cash prizes. That’s been the case in the past month or so, with the first-ever college championship and the recent Madden 21 Club Championship. Now, the MCS will shift attention towards the Madden NFL 21 Classic tournament. Registration is still available, but only for a limited time for any interested PS4 and Xbox One gamers.
What is the Madden NFL 21 Classic?
The Madden NFL 21 Classic is a tournament featuring PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers competing head-to-head. It joins the Madden NFL 21 Challenge, which features a MUT Draft, in a new online format this year.
The Madden NFL 21 Classic will feature a one-vs-one competition format online. Gamers are trying to win their games in a ladder bracket to gain a spot in a single-elimination bracket featuring the top 512 players.
There will be a $50,000 prize pool for these tournaments, so gamers can potentially win a nice bit of cash for their Madden skills. Also, a spot in a future Madden Championship Series event will be on the line.
By the way, that’s a $50,000 prize pool for the PS4 side and a $50,000 prize pool for the Xbox side of the Classic. The winner on each side takes home $15,000 and qualifies for a future Madden Championship Series event.
The second-place competitor receives $8,000, and the third-place competitor receives $6,500. Monetary prizes will also go to the fourth through 16th place competitors.
As an added bonus, the first 2,500 players who compete in each tournament will receive an “exclusive clutch pack” as a reward for their participation.
The Madden NFL 19 Classic went to Michael “Skimbo” Skimbo, who defeated Justin “LilMan” Barone in Las Vegas. Zack “Serious Moe” Lane won the Madden NFL 20 Classic. Now, another competitor could add their name to the list of Madden stars by capturing the title in 2021.
Registration ends soon, upcoming tournament dates
Registration for the Madden NFL 21 Classic is still available through the Battlefly website here. The registration is only open for competitors using the Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One platforms.
The PS4 registration will close on Saturday, February 20th, while the Xbox One registration closes on Sunday, February 21st. The tournament is also only open to competitors in Canada, Germany, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The Madden NFL 21 Classic Stage 1 will feature the ladder bracket of the competition. It takes place on the 20th and 21st. Stage 2 will bring single elimination and takes place on Saturday, February 27th.
The Classic quarterfinals are set for February 28th. The Classic finals to determine a champion will take place about a month later on March 27th.
