After you successfully aid MODUS in the events of the One of Us main quest, the AI will get you properly set up as an agent of the Enclave. That means promotions, prestige, and valuable reward items. The Fallout 76 Officer on Deck quest takes place mostly within The Whitespring Bunker, though you will eventually be sent back out to earn “Promotion Commendations.”
How to Complete the Fallout 76 Officer on Deck Main Quest
The Fallout 76 Officer on Deck quest should begin automatically when you complete One of Us and return to MODUS at The Whitespring Bunker. Your first objective is to head for the bunker’s Military Wing, where you’ll speak with MODUS. This area is downstairs from the exam chamber, past the dining area. Take a left turn at the end of that room and go down another flight of stairs to find the Military Wing on your left. The doorway has a clear sign over the top it.
Inside, MODUS will give you an explanation of the nuclear missile network, which will be very important in the not-too-distant future. However, your primary task for today is to register yourself in the Automated Promotion System. This system is on the far side of the room. This system allows you to earn automatic “Promotion Commendations,” for completing objectives out in Appalachia. The higher rank you reach, the more areas and rewards in The Whitespring Bunker will become available to you. There are three different categories of Commendation that you can earn; Basic Combat, High-Risk Combat, and Enclave Event Commendations.
You can earn Basic Combat Commendations every time you kill an Epic creature which has up to 3 stars in its name. Alternately, you’ll earn a single High-Risk Combat Commendation every time you kill an Epic creature with 4-5 stars. You can also earn a High-Risk Combat Commendation every time you kill a Scorchbeast. You’ll get Enclave Event Commendations for completing the “Dropped Connection,” “Bots on Parade,” and “A Real Blast,” events. The first two will grant you a single Commendation, while “A Real Blast,” will earn you two.
Now you just need to go out and raise your rank. Once you do, your promotion will occur automatically. The next quest should now begin. Your quest rewards for Officer on Deck are an Enclave Officer’s Uniform and Enclave Officer’s Hat. You’ll also receive a new photo frame and random aid item. Finally, you’ll get Last Bastion, a unique modded Urban Enclave Armour Torso.
