The Fallout 76 The Missing Link quest is the eighth main quest, following on from the events of Into the Fire. Now that you are a fully-fledged member of the Fire Breathers, you must investigate the priority message you heard at the Charleston Fire Department. That will require you to undertake an expedition to Top of the World, in the Savage Divide.
How to Complete the Fallout 76 The Missing Link Main Quest
After you complete Into the Fire and start the Fallout 76 The Missing Link quest, you’ll receive an objective marker directing you to Top of the World. This site lies near the exact centre of the map, southeast of Vault 76, on the western side of the Savage Divide. One of the quicker ways to get there from Charleston is simply to fast-travel back to Morgantown Airport and journey from there. As you approach the site you should start picking up the Top of the World Radio Station. Listen to this to start the Signal Strength main quest. For now, continue with The Missing Link.
When you arrive at Top of the World you’ll meet Rose for the first time. However, she won’t let you up to her floor without completing an errand for her (this will be a running theme). You need to build her a Signal Repeater, and that means going and completing the Signal Strength main quest. Put The Missing Link on hold and go complete that quest.
Once you return and craft Rose’s Signal Repeater, she will let you up to the third floor. This is where Madigan’s trail ends. However, only Rose knows what Madigan was after, and she isn’t willing to simply tell you. Instead, you’ll now have to earn her trust by completing more errands. Namely, these are the Flavours of Mayhem and Keys to the Past main quests. Once again, put The Missing Link on hold and complete those two main quests.
At last, once you return to Top of the World you can collect the Broken Uplink from her Raider’s Cache. Unfortunately, you still have one long trip to make. You need to head for Abbie’s Bunker, a location in The Mire. Once you arrive, hack the terminal to unlock the door and head inside, finally completing The Missing Link. You’ll earn some random ammo, armour, plans, or a weapon, as well as a new photo frame for all your trouble. The next main quest, Early Warnings, will start automatically.
