All Meta Changes Coming in the Apex Legends System Override Patch

Tomorrow, Respawn will be launching the first Collection Event in Apex Legends‘ 4th season; System Override. However, alongside this new event, the studio will also be launching a sizable game update, featuring changes to Legends, weapons, and the in-game inventory. So, here’s all the meta changes you can expect to see when the Apex Legends System Override patch launches tomorrow.

Meta Changes in the Apex Legends System Override Patch

Of all the Legends currently in the game, three will be receiving tweaks or alterations in tomorrow’s Apex Legends System Override patch; Bloodhound, Crypto, and Gibraltar. The first of the trio, Bloodhound, will be getting some noteworthy changes to the Eye of the Allfather ability; it will now take twice as long to activate, while the scan will last for 3 seconds instead of 2. However, its scan distance is being increased threefold! According to Respawn; “The intent is for Bloodhound to use their tactical as they are approaching towns pre-combat versus reacting while in a fight.”

Gibraltar, meanwhile, is getting their Gun Shield health reduced by 33%, down from 75 to 50. Crypto, on the other hand, will now automatically reload primary weapons while in his drone view. When it comes to weapons, both the Peacekeeper and Sentinel are getting tweaks, but especially the former. The Peacekeeper’s magazine size is going down from 6 to 5, and its reload will now take 0.15 seconds longer. (0.1 second if you’re reloading an empty mag.) Furthermore, the scale of the gun’s blast pattern is going up from 1.6 to 1.7. In the case of the Sentinel, this gun’s base damage is going up from 65 to 70. Additionally, its rechambering time will be going down to 1.75 seconds from 1.85.

The final, and very significant, meta change concerns the in-game inventory; all inventory sizes are getting an increase. Players will now have 10 base inventory slots instead of 8. The Common Backpack will now increase it to 12, a Rare Backpack to 14, and finally an Epic Backpack to 16. However, most other stacks are seeing an overall reduction in capacity. Grenade stacks will drop from 2 to 1, while ammo stacks for Light/Heavy/Energy ammo will go down from 80 to 60. Elsewhere, Syringe and Shield Cell stacks will drop from 6 to 4, and finally, Med Kit and Shield Battery stacks will drop from 3 to 2.
