NBA 2K19 MyTeam Triple Double 3D Packs Bring Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, & More Stars
Some of the NBA’s top players when it comes to achieving triple-doubles are now available as part of a new NBA 2K19 MyTeam promotion. The NBA 2K19 MyTeam Triple Double 3D packs feature players with legendary resumes in the game as well as those who have more recently shown their skills. Here are more details about the new Triple Double 3D packs and some of the players available as well as a curious omission.
NBA 2K19 MyTeam Triple Double 3D Packs players
The NBA 2K MyTeam crew tweeted out a reveal of their newest promotion as of Friday (Jan. 4). It shows off several NBA legends with former Houston Rockets All-Star Ralph Sampson, and former Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird. Larry “Legend” comes in at 95 while Sampson holds a 96 overall rating. As seen, right next to them is current NBA player Rajon Rondo, also with a 96 rating. Each of these players is known for their ability to record triple-doubles during their history.

As seen on the tweet, Rondo and Sampson are both Pink Diamond cards. Larry Bird comes in as a diamond as does Wilt “The Stilt” Chamberlain. Also mentioned, is a Pink Diamond Jason Kidd card as part of NBA 2K19 MyTeam Triple Double 3D packs event. Those are the five players mentioned, but they may be many others in the packs.
NBA 2K19 MyTeam Triple Double 3D Packs – More players?
For those wondering about all-time stats, J-Kidd is the leader amongst players mentioned here, which makes sense for him to be the collection reward. Kidd is fourth all-time and recorded 107 triple-doubles during his NBA career. Wilt Chamberlain had 78 and ranks fifth, while Larry Bird (No. 7) had 59 of them. A bit lower down the list is Rajon Rondo with 31 triple-doubles. He’s tied with John Havlicek at No. 11 overall.
Interestingly enough, only the specific players named on the tweet are part of the promotion hype. However, it also says “Cop for a chance at players like” followed by the players named. Could that mean some of the other all-time triple-double leaders will be in packs? There are a few notable omissions possibly for the fact they had recent cards or have them on the way for another promotion.
Oscar Robertson is currently No. 1 with 181, followed by Magic Johnson (138), and Russell Westbrook (115). Then, you’ve also got stars such as the Lakers’ LeBron James and Rockets’ James Harden climbing that list with each new triple-double they achieve. Harden may simply achieve more 2K19 Moments Cards based on his latest work, though. Still, the exclusion of a Westbrook card has plenty of gamers wondering why Russ was left out of the triple-double party.
