NBA 2K19 Neighborhood To Feature Kevin Garnett Vs. Paul George Celebrity Matchup

The NBA 2K19 Neighborhood is bringing a pair of NBA All-Star players into the game for an upcoming event. Retired NBA star Kevin Garnett and Oklahoma City Thunder star Paul George will be involved in a special celebrity matchup. NBA 2K19 Neighborhood: Team Garnett vs. Team George

The NBA 2K Twitter brought news of the huge showdown which arrives just after Christmas Day. It’s part of the NBA 2K19 Winter Madness schedule which fans got to see on Thursday. As of then, gamers didn’t know which NBA stars would be involved in the TBA celebs matchup, but it’s certainly a major showdown. Retired star Kevin Garnett will head up Team Garnett to take on current All-Star Paul George and Team George.

Each of these NBA stars has impressive resumes. Garnett, now retired from his playing days, won the NBA MVP Award with Minnesota and an NBA Championship with Boston. Garnett averaged 17.8 points, 10 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game over his 20-year career. He was a 14-time All-Star and currently sits at No. 17 in all-time points with 26,071 scored.

George is still adding to his resume, but so far he’s been an early MVP contender based on how he’s propelled OKC into the top three teams in the West. He’s had some impressive scoring performance this season too. In fact, about two weeks ago NBA 2K rewarded gamers with a Paul George Diamond card for a 47-point performance. He currently holds a 90 overall in the game, based on a recent 2K19 player ratings update.

“KG” and “PG13” will use their “respective teams” according to 2K. That probably means KG will run with the Boston Celtics and George will use his current squad OKC. They’ll each have a pair of gamers to assist them in the battle. On Team Garnett will be ZackTTG and Troydan. Gamers Kris London and Agent00 will be part of Team George.

Based on NBA 2K’s tweet, Team Garnett vs. Team George all unfolds at 3 p.m. Pacific Time (6 p.m. Eastern Time) on Wednesday, December 26. Gamers can start up their game. From there, head to The Park in NBA 2K19 Neighborhood and check out the special Center Court for the big celebrity NBA matchup. It’s also going to live stream on Twitch TV with the players’ audio included in the live event.
