NBA 2K20 MyTeam Adds NBA Is Back Promotion With Guaranteed Galaxy Opal Cards, GOAT Reward
The NBA is back! As of Thursday night, two games took place as part of the NBA restart at the Orlando bubble site. One of the games featured LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers hosting Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. Both players are now available in top form as part of the newest NBA 2K20 MyTeam promotion, the NBA is Back packs and boxes.
LeBron, Kawhi headline NBA 2K20 MyTeam promotion
While many fans are looking ahead to the arrival of the new NBA 2K21 game, others are still enjoying NBA 2K20 MyTeam. The newest promotion allows gamers with a bit of currency to spend to potentially land some all-time great cards for their lineups. That’s because the NBA is Back packs and boxes feature a guaranteed Galaxy Opal card inside each pack.
Leading the way in the promotion is a GOAT card this time for LeBron James. It brings the heat with 99s for each of the main categories: Outside/Inside Scoring, Playmaking, Athleticism, Defending, and Rebounding. King James also has five Gold and 69 Hall of Fame Badges with the GOAT GO card as well.
He’s joined by Lakers teammate Anthony Davis amongst other Galaxy Opals, as well as last night’s opponent Kawhi Leonard. Other stars in the packs include Zion Williamson, Ben Simmons, Damian Lillard, and James Harden.
There’s also a GOAT Vince Carter card available as a collection reward for the new NBA 2K20 MyTeam promotion. Based on MTDB’s listing, the new VC Galaxy Opal has 99 ratings for each of the major attribute categories except for Inside Scoring. They gave the all-time great known as “Half-Man, Half Amazing” a 98 there.
Still, Carter also boasts nine Gold and 65 Hall of Fame badges on the reward. You’ll unlock it by collecting all 14 available NBA is Back Galaxy Opals below:

Latest costs for packs, boxes, and auction listings
The NBA 2K20 MyTeam Market has packs and boxes available. The lowest cost for a pack is 11,250 Virtual Currency or 10,500 MT. However, these particular packs only give a chance at pulling a Galaxy Opal. You’ll need to spend 15,000 VC or 17,250 MT to get a guaranteed NBA is Back Galaxy Opal inside. Gamers with more funds to spend might want to opt for a 10-pack box. Those go for 135,000 VC.
The Auction listings provide opportunities to pick up cards, but those will carry high prices in terms of MT, depending on which card one purchases. For example, that LeBron GOAT card is going for a cool 3.5 million MT on one of the latest PS4 listings. Kawhi Leonard is going for over 800,000 MT on a listing. We’ve seen Luka Doncic going for about 600,000 MT while rookie Zion is selling for about 150,000 MT or less.
