NBA 2K20 Ratings Update: Brandon Ingram, Luka Doncic Rise as Nikola Jokic Slides

The first NBA 2K20 ratings update of the new season is here! A number of players saw their ratings take a drastic turn upward thanks to a great start to their seasons. That included Dallas Mavericks sophomore star Luka Doncic and Brandon Ingram who is rediscovering his game in New Orleans. However, several players also fell a bit in the latest update.

First NBA 2K20 ratings update applied to game on Nov. 7

On Thursday, the NBA 2K20 Twitter sent out an image showing off eight players with six of them gaining points. Three players had their numbers move up by four points including the Pelicans’ Brandon Ingram and Detroit Pistons’ Derrick Rose. The other is the Atlanta Hawks’ Trae Young who is nearing a 90 overall rating, something that fellow second-year star Luka Doncic just achieved.

Most fans felt that Luka Doncic had All-Star potential as a rookie, and he’s continuing to show that in just his second year. He’s second in assists to only LeBron James with his 9.9 dishes served per game. Doncic is also averaging 9.9 rebounds and 26.7 points a contest. He’s shooting 46.6 percent for his field goal range as the Dallas Mavericks have a 5-2 record early. It’s not a bad start to his season, but can Luka keep up this level of play?

A few NBA All-Stars also saw their numbers drop a bit including “The Joker” Nikola Jokic who hasn’t had the best of starts for the Denver Nuggets. Jokic is averaging 14.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists so far this season. All of those numbers are a decline from last season in which he’d improved to 20.1 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game. Most fans believe that Jokic should return to form at some point, though.

D’Angelo Russell got a change of scenery when he joined the Golden State Warriors’ backcourt. He made the All-Star team last year as the main star on the Brooklyn Nets. However, this season he’s had to fill a void left by an injury Klay Thompson. He’s averaging 19 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game for the Warriors and shooting 38.6 percent. Just like Jokic, that’s a drop in his overall statistics, so he sees a drop in the NBA 2K20 ratings.

Other players who moved up in the ratings this week included the Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker and new Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving. Both players saw their ratings get a one-point bump as they continue the lead the way for their respective squads.

The new NBA 2K20 ratings should go into effect upon loading up the game if the console is connected to the internet. See more of the latest NBA 2K news here. Visit the official 2K website for more details about the game.
