New Season launches: Space Jam & G.O.A.T. cards in Out of This World

It’s the final season of NBA 2K21’s MyTeam, as the 2K22 cover stars and release date were recently revealed. On Friday, 2K put out a trailer for MyTeam Season 9 called Out of this World showing highlights of what to expect. That includes a plethora of new Invincible, Dark Matter, and other high-rated cards to use on rosters.

Amongst the players featured in the trailer are Grant Hill, LeBron James, Toni Kukoc, Isaiah Thomas, Anthony Davis, Damian Lillard, and Kobe Bryant. We learned days ago the Level 40 reward for MyTeam Season 9 is Invincible Julius Erving.

The first official G.O.A.T. cards were added as part of NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 9. They’re randomly found through the new Out of this World packs.

The first two players to receive these cards are the guys in many fans’ debates about all-time greatest; Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Each player gets a card full of 99s for their attributes making them pretty much, the greatest. Other players shown as possibilities in these packs are Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, and Damian Lillard.

Also featured in NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 9 is the special themed Space Jam: A New Legacy cards (shown below). They honor the stars of the new movie including LeBron, AD, Dame, and Klay, with special artwork from the recently released film. It’s a sequel/reboot to the MJ original, released many years ago, and featuring MJ and other live-action stars alongside Looney Tunes characters.

Out of this World packs are now available at the MyTeam Pack Market. Check out the full attributes, badges, and other details for all the cards available in the Out of this World packs at 2KDB.net’s listing.

New 2K21 MyTeam Locker Codes revealed

With the launch of Season 9, also comes new NBA 2K21 Locker Codes. Upon launch, a code was released that could get 100 tokens, 75 tokens, a Hall of Fame Badge, or a Diamond Consumables Pack.

To redeem, simply head to the MyTeam/Extras area for Locker Codes and enter “MYTEAM-SEASON-9-BEGINS.” The code can also be entered into the NBA 2K21 mobile app to make it easier than using a controller to enter it.

The second code will allow gamers to pick up an Out of this World Pack, a Badge Pack, or three tokens. Those are potential prizes from dropping the ball into the pinball machine. Redeem the code by entering “MYTEAM-OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD” into the Locker Codes area in MyTeam/Extras/Settings.

Each of the NBA 2K Locker Codes is good for a week, so they won’t be redeemable at some point next Friday, July 23. There’s also one additional Locker Code mentioned below for the new Kobe challenge.

NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 9 features Space Jam, Kobe challenges

With the official launch of NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 9, there were also new Agendas and Challenges added to the mode. One of those challenges plays into the Space Jam theme and features LeBron James. For this Triple Threat Challenge, you’ll need to use a LeBron on your team to defeat the Goon Squad. They feature Klay, AD, and 2K21 cover star Damian Lillard.

Last and definitely not least is the all-time great Kobe Bryant. The late Los Angeles Lakers star had his own special Mamba Forever Edition for the NBA 2K21 game. Now there’s a new Kobe Signature Challenge in NBA 2K21 MyTeam Season 9.

Gamers will need to match a 60-point performance, which Kobe did in his final game as an NBA star. By defeating the challenge, gamers earn a Kobe VI shoe and Hall of Fame Badge.

2K dropped the code “MAMBA-FOREVER-2K21” to give gamers a guaranteed Kobe card to use for the challenge.
