NBA 2K21 Player Ratings Update: Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic on the Rise After Recent Performances

Two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry has been in superb form lately, and is amongst the star players getting a boost in the latest NBA 2K21 Player ratings update. He’s joined by a guy who’s been mentioned as a possible NBA MVP frontrunner for the 2020-21 season, Nikola Jokic. Both players received a positive increase in their ratings along with several other noteworthy stars. Of course, there were those who also moved down a bit based on lackluster recent performances.

Curry, Jokic lead NBA 2K21 player ratings update

Steph Curry’s a bonafide star in the NBA by now, and after a season he was mostly out due to injury, he’s back in fine form. For 2020-21, Curry has averaged 31.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists a game. He’s also known for his long-range bombs from downtown and those have been plentiful. Curry’s hit 262-of-617 three-pointers he’s attempted, which is good for a 42.5 percent rate from beyond the arc.

His performances in April included an 11-game streak of 30-point performances. There were recent back-to-back games with 47 and 49 points as well as a game against Denver on April 12 with 53 points. Four of his games this past month featured him hitting 10 or more threes.

All of that said, Steph Curry has officially improved by a point to a sweet 97 overall in the NBA 2K21 player ratings update.

Also moving up by a point to become a 96 OVR is the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic. His season has consisted of averages of 26.4 points, 11 rebounds, 8.7 assists per game. On Wednesday night, he scored 25 including key free throws late to lead his squad past the Portland Trail Blazers. Throughout the course of the 2020-21 season, he’s been considered among the top contenders for MVP along with fellow big man, Joel Embiid.

Who else moved up or down for their OVRs?

The new NBA 2K21 player ratings update wasn’t without its share of downgrades. Among players who slid in the latest adjustment were the Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo, Portland’s C.J. McCollum, and Milwaukee Bucks guard Jrue Holiday.

Rookie Tyrese Haliburton has had some recent poor outings and moved down by a point to 81 overall. In addition, Jordan Clarkson (81 OVR), Jalen Brunson (80 OVR), and Bobby Portis (80 OVR) all slid by a point.

The NBA 2K21 player ratings update arrives just after a recent patch update went live for next-gen consoles. It featured just a few fixes and improvements, but also users indicating some additional loading screen issues.

With the NBA season moving fast and furious towards the playoffs, there are likely to be some more great performances on the way. Stay tuned as more NBA 2K21 ratings updates will arrive in the coming weeks as teams battle for the championship!
