2K Addresses NBA 2K21 Pre-Order Bonuses, Shooting Complaints

The new NBA 2K21 game officially arrived on Friday with gamers able to dive into new gameplay and modes in two different editions. One was a Mamba Forever Edition, which gave tribute to the late, great Kobe Bryant. That particular edition carried a higher price tag but came with more NBA 2K21 pre-order bonuses.

In addition, there is a brand new shooting system as part of the gameplay. Both the pre-order bonuses and shooting brought many user complaints but now 2K is responding.

Gamers report missing NBA 2K21 pre-order bonuses

Weeks ahead of Friday’s release, gamers could pre-order a $59.99 Standard Edition or a higher-priced Mamba Forever Edition. The Mamba Forever Edition cost $99.99 and included NBA 2K21 pre-order bonuses.

Those bonuses included things like more MyTeam packs, player cards, gear, MT, and 100,000 Virtual Currency. In addition, gamers who purchased this version got a free copy of the next-generation version of 2K21 for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X.

When gamers downloaded and installed the Mamba Forever Edition, a number of them were reporting they didn’t get their NBA 2K21 pre-order bonuses as described. Some even reported that it seemed they only received the Standard Edition of the game.

That was just a small sample of the tweets going around upon the game’s release. There were many more comments like that across various 2K social media posts. However, 2K addressed the NBA 2K21 pre-order bonuses in another tweet assuring them things would be fixed.

“We are aware some of you are not getting your bonus content and VC purchases. These are not lost and this should be resolved over the next few hours,” @2KSupport tweeted with regards to the issues.

Gamers who continue to experience any issues with their pre-order bonus content not showing up should follow @2KSupport and send questions or issues their way for assistance.

Hotfix to arrive for early shooting issues

In addition to NBA 2K21 pre-order bonuses, the new shooting system is another aspect of the game many players are complaining about. Basically, the complaint involves the new shot meter and how it feels impossible to hit shots no matter how good a shooter one uses.

There’s good news for those who are upset about how NBA 2K21 shooting is. 2K is rolling out a “hotfix” for it on Sunday (Sept. 6) to address the issues. The hotfix will only be for Rookie, Pro, and All-Star difficulty levels, while the higher difficulties and Neighborhood will not get the fix.

That particular NBA 2K21 tweet received plenty of love, with over 13,000 Likes as of this report. That said, there are those who actually like how the shooting system is in the new game and were hoping that it wouldn’t get any changes.

There are also plenty of gamers bringing up a valid point. They’re asking for 2K to give the option to use the shot meter from the NBA 2K19 and 2K20 editions. Time will tell if 2K listens to the community and goes that far in terms of addressing gamers’ complaints, though.
