NBA 2K21 Soundtrack: List of Artists Includes Travis Scott, Rick Ross, and Juice WRLD

As the wait for NBA 2K21 continues, bits and pieces of news involving the game have been arriving. The latest reveal comes in the form of the NBA 2K21 soundtrack. Basketball video game fans are now seeing the list of artists for the first time. Among them will be popular hip-hop stars including Travis Scott, Rick Ross, Lil Baby, and the late Juice WRLD.

Cover star Damian Lillard helps unveil NBA 2K21 soundtrack artists

Weeks ago, we got a teaser revealing some of the hip-hop artists on the 2K21 playlist. A new video arrived on NBA 2K’s social media on Monday, July 27 which presents even more artists.

In the clip, viewers see the standard edition cover star, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers. He stands in the center of the frame and eventually raises up a fist as the names of NBA 2K21 soundtrack artists are revealed around him.

No song titles are given, simply the musicians. They’ll include What’s Poppin’ rapper Jack Harlow, Miami favorite Rick Ross, and the man who seems to be popping up everywhere on tracks, Travis Scott.

Also among the artists is Juice WRLD. The video announcement of his inclusion comes on the heels of his posthumous release, Legends Never Die, which arrived on July 10. Juice died in early December of 2019.

Pop Smoke is another hip-hop star appearing in the lineup after his death. Known for his track The Woo featuring 50 Cent and Roddy Ricch, he passed away in February of 2020. His posthumous album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon was released earlier this month and reached No. 1 on the US charts.

As with previous soundtracks for the game, the NBA 2K21 soundtrack keeps the popular music flowing. Other major artists named in the video include The Weeknd, The Strokes, and Tory Lanez. Some of the lesser-known artists for fans might include Lil Tijay, J Has, CHIKA, and Little Simz.

It’s also unknown if the new NBA 2K21 soundtrack will bring in new music throughout the months after the game’s release. Last year 2K also featured an initiative where they introduced aspiring musicians into the mix who submitted tracks for consideration. There’s an “at more” shown with the artists so it could mean something similar will take place.

Update: The full NBA 2K21 soundtrack playlist is available on Spotify. Listen to the music below.
