Get ready to indulge your nostalgia to the fullest as you play through 15 moments in Michael Jordan’s legendary career. As the latest Courtside Report explains, the Jordan Challenge mode is essentially a playable narrative which covers the span of Jordan’s career. It was crafted so that even younger players who may not have memories of Jordan’s career from their own lives will be able to follow his journey beginning with the 1982 NCAA National Championship and concluding with the 1998 NBA Finals.

Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts, said, “The Jordan Challenge is an immersive experience unlike anything NBA 2K fans have seen, completely rebuilding the challenges from 2K11 and adding five new moments. Our team took everything into consideration when constructing this game mode; the arenas, the players, the uniforms, the broadcast, and the play style of the era have been accounted for in an effort to give fans a truly authentic and unique playable Jordan experience.”

The developers really did their research on this one. Not only did they attempt to recreate the broadcast experiences of previous decades, but they also made sure that gameplay is true to what it was like in those days. You can read in-depth about how this plays out in terms of pacing, slider settings, AI and more in the Courtside Report. This trip back in time will bring memories racing back for those who watched these games when they were live. For those who missed them, it will be the closest thing to having been there.
