It can be a bit of a struggle to predict when NBA Live games are expected to be released. Part of the problem is that EA Sports has been known to skip entire years in the NBA Live franchise when they feel like it (which is completely unheard of in the sports video game genre).
Nevertheless, NBA Live 18 was a better offering than many earlier games which bodes will for NBA Live 19. It still trails the NBA 2K franchise in both sales and popularity but Electronic Arts is hoping to close the ground that Take Two Interactive gained on them over the last decade.
To properly predict NBA Live 19’s release date, we took a look at the previous releases from earlier years.
- NBA Live 18 release date – September 15th, 2017
- NBA Live 17 release date – Game not released
- NBA Live 16 release date – September 29th, 2015
- NBA Live 15 release date – October 24th, 2014
We can see that just like with NBA 2K, NBA Live seems to be creeping further and further into September for the release of their game. This trend could change, but with both major basketball games competing against each other, neither studio will want to give the other an early advantage by releasing their game later than expected.
It is pretty likely that NBA Live 19 will come out on Friday, September 14th, 2018 with EA Sports offering the option to pay a little extra to get the game a few days earlier.
