NBA Live 19 Title Update Adds City Jerseys & Celebrations, Fixes Defensive Gameplay Issues

On Wednesday, fans of NBA Live 19 received word of a brand new update. This one packs some nice additions and fixes into it too. As fans of the competing game complain over NBA City Jerseys being available in the game, NBA Live 19 title update added them. There are also several other reasons for celebration including fixes for online play and a major gameplay tuning update.

NBA Live 19 Title Update: City Jerseys, Celebrations Added

The Nike City Edition Jerseys are now part of the NBA Live 19 game update. These are special edition Nike jerseys unveiled by the teams for the latest season. They offer unique themes, colors, logos, and throwbacks to other eras, but with a cool new updated look. In the tweet below, jerseys for the Philadelphia Sixers, Houston Rockets, and Phoenix Suns are on display courtesy of Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Devin Booker.

In addition to seeing players and teams rock the City jerseys, there are also celebrations available now. The EA dev team indicated in their notes that “NBA Players should now play celebrations we would expect them to perform.” That should add even more realism to the game that may have been previously lacking.

NBA Live 19 Title Update: Gameplay tuning, online play

While jerseys and celebrations are great, how about some NBA Live gameplay improvements? The major gameplay tweaks came with regards to defenders contesting shots and shot percentages. Developers adjusted the game so shot percentages will be affected by all defenders that are nearby a shooter and in front of the shooter during shots and layups. In addition, if a defender is behind a ball carrier and not trying to contest a layup attempt, the shot percentage won’t be affected.

There are also some great online play fixes which EA addressed. One of these involves earning XP in Live Run 3v3, 5v5, and world tour aspects of NBA Live 19 online play. The developers adjusted the reward tuning for these parts of the game. Additionally, they fixed a glitch in which the game was crashing in online play, and have added a feature to “skip examining items” when opening rewards. This is still an option by using “X” or “Square” button on the controller.

Of these changes, many gamers are already reacting positively to the update to the defensive aspects of the game. Some are saying the “overall flow” of gameplay is great and praising the development team for their work. The full NBA Live dev notes give more details on the latest update which is now available.
