New Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Map Pack In The Center Of Another Backlash

The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Map Pack called Back in Black is available on Playstation 4 exclusively for everyone who preordered Black Ops 4. While it might look like the perfect promotional campaign for the game on Sony’s console, fans are not happy about its exclusivity.

This marks the second backlash that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 faces after the one about the game’s Season Pass policy. It’s natural for PC and Xbox One fans to feel left out from this offer but, since Sony is Activision’s announcement media for the upcoming Black Ops title, it’s only natural for Playstation 4 to have some kind of exclusivity on it.

Think of it that way, if Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was to have some exclusive maps on the Playstation 4, fans would be even more enraged so giving a bunch of new content for its predecessor doesn’t seem like such a big issue. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Map Pack, Back in Black on Playstation 4 includes:

  • Firing Range multiplayer map
  • Jungle multiplayer map
  • Slums multiplayer map
  • Summit multiplayer map

As for its price, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Map Pack is free for everyone that preorders the upcoming Black Ops 4.

We already knew from Activision’s Season Pass for Black Ops 4 policy this year, that the company is focusing on paid content, in contrast to its biggest competitor Battlefield V that is focusing on a free live service and no paid DLC or Premium Passes.

Both games are under fire right now for different reasons, making the FPS scene unsteady for the time being. We expect everything to settle down as soon as the games release on October. Until then, sit tight and keep negativity away. Everything will be clear and stable as Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s release date draws nearer.
