New Destiny 2 ViDoc Outlines Bungie’s 2019 Content Plans

Bungie is looking to close out the 2018 Destiny 2 year strong with next week’s Black Armory expansion. However, Black Armory is just the start of Bungie’s long-term content plans. A new ViDoc reveals those long-term plans in more detail, outlining new Destiny 2 content additions well into 2019.

Destiny 2 Road Ahead ViDoc

Destiny 2 upcoming content roadmap.

As you can see, there’s a lot coming to Destiny 2 in late 2018/early-mid 2019. Players can participate in returning seasonal events such as Crimson Days, The Dawning, and Solstice of Heroes. New features such as power cap increases and private Gambit matches will be freely available for all players. And of course those who invested in Destiny 2’s Annual Pass have three new expansions to look forward to.

Each of the three Annual Pass expansions contains a plethora of exciting new features. We’ve gone ahead and compiled some information based off of what’s covered in the ViDoc:

  • Black Armory: A new questline involving the titular Black Armory and a mysterious female Exo NPC. Players must locate and reignite four ancient forges by defeating waves of enemies in a new horde-mode activity. The new co-op activity supports matchmaking and awards powerful new Legendary and Exotic weapons. Black Armory players can also participate in a new raid set in the EDZ’s ruined city.
  • Joker’s Wild: The Joker’s Wild expansion includes new pinnacle Gambit scenarios and new Gambit-specific weapons and armor. The expansion also includes yet another Exotic quest and a new as-yet-detailed Xur Bounties feature.
  • Penumbra: Bungie is keeping details regarding Penumbra close to the chest for now. However, the ViDoc roadmap confirms it will add in a new raid experience and new weapons and armor. The expansion also comes with a mysterious new 6-player activity which supports matchmaking.

Destiny 2 Upcoming Content Seasons

Each of the above expansions is also associated with a content season that spans several months, lasting well into 2019. Bungie will be implementing a power cap increase of 50 during each season. This means that by the time Penumbra launches the power cap should be 750.

Meanwhile, the currently available Season of the Forge includes new PvE pinnacle weapons for players to earn.
