New Fallout 4 Mod Adds Massive Orbital Laser

If you’re looking for something new to bring to your Fallout 4 experience, one new mod might well be precisely what you need. The Archimedes-II Fallout 4 mod was released just a few days ago, and it’s a mod with devastating potential. It adds a new weapon to the game with the power to unleash an orbital laser strike!

The Archimedes-II: A New Fallout 4 Mod With Massive Destructive Capabilities

The Archimedes-II Fallout 4 mod was created by modders Niero and TheKite, and is currently available on NexusMods. Although it’s only been available for a few days, the mod has already garnered hundreds of endorsements and thousands of unique downloads; a good indication that the mod is something special.

Fallout 4 Mod Adds Archimedes-II

The focus of the new mod is a weapon called the Archimedes-II, described as a; “multi-purpose weapons platform,” which features three different firing modes. These are the “Flare Charger, Dissipator Beam, and Orbital Designation”. Players can toggle between the different firing modes in-game. The first two allow the weapon to work much like a standard laser weapon, and they scale with the game’s weapon perks. The final mode, however, causes the gun to function as a laser pointer. This mode uses no ammo and calls down a massive orbital strike from an overhead satellite. The strike is so powerful that it has a default in-game cooldown of 24 hours! (Although, this can be altered at a Weapon Workbench.)

As if the firing modes weren’t enough, the modders have also made a cosmetic skin pack available for the Archimedes-II. The mod and four standard 2K-resolution skin are available for free on NexusMods, but players can make a donation to the modders on Gumroad to get the skin pack, which contains ten additional (and very impressive) 4K cosmetic skins. The pack also upgrades the original four skins to 4K. Although only available on PC for now, the modders hope to bring the Archimedes-II to Xbox “eventually.”
