New Fortnite Update Brings Map Changes, New Crafting Options And More

The new Fortnite update was released on Tuesday, July 6. This is a hotfix update, which means it’s smaller and it requires no download. However, despite it being a small update, it has added a lot of new content to the game, including a new item and map changes.

Alien Nanites, a versatile item, was the biggest addition in the last Fortnite Battle Royale patch. Not only does can this item be used in combat, but it can also be used as a crafting material.

Map changes

Holly Hedges has been changed with the new Fortnite update. It is has been overrun by Alien Parasites and turned into Holly Hatchery. Many Fortnite leakers had revealed this change before the update came out, so we can expect other leaks to be true as well. More precisely, some other areas will most likely be changed in the same way.

Believer Beach has also received some small changes. The summer party is over and the new update has slightly changed this area to reflect that. Fortnite players will most likely get another small change in this area very soon as LeBron James’ mural/teaser will appear on the basketball court at Believer Beach.

New item and boss

Alien Nanites can be used as non-lethal grenades as well as crafting materials. When players use it as a throwable item, they create an alien biome around themselves. This is a low-gravity area that allows players to move differently.

When it comes to crafting, Alien Nanites can be used to craft Alien weapons. Assault Rifle can be turned into a Pulse Rifle, while a Submachine Gun can be turned into a Ray Gun. A Sniper Rifle can be sidegraded into a Rail Gun with this item as well. This item can be found in regular chests, although it is much more frequent on Abductors and the Mothership.

Zyg and Choppy are back! They had been prematurely added to the game at Hydro 16, but now they are back for good. Players can get the Mythic Ray Gun by eliminating these two creatures and it turns out they will be moving across the map in the future updates. According to Hypex, one of the most popular Fortnite Battle Royale leakers, they will move to Weeping Woods before going close to the Aftermath. After that, the bosses will move to southwest of Pleasant Park before going to Craggy Cliffs. Their final location will be northwest of Retail Row.
