Grand Theft Auto 5 has many things, including a smash hit online mode, tons of mods to keep players busy, and tons of carnage to keep you interested. But there’s one thing it hasn’t had until now: Thanos. Now, it can have the Mad Titan himself, just like Fortnite did a couple of weeks ago, thanks to GTA5 modder JulioNIB, who’s responsible for adding the likes of several other familiar Marvel characters to the game. He’s working on adding the nefarious supervillain to GTA5 for your smashing and crashing pleasure, and it’s going to be awesome to see him making an appearance in yet another title.
JulioNIB’s Thanos mod will let you run around the city as the massive villain and treat his powers like messing about in a sandbox. Armed with the Infinity Gauntlet and all its stones, you’ll be able to teleport around town, jump on tall buildings, throw meteors at NPCs and otherwise terrorize them, and more. Yes, pretty much anything Thanos can do (excluding killing off half the universe, probably) will be at your disposal. You can see a lot of these moves broken down in an early look at the mod in the videos above and below, though it looks like it’s going to be quite a while until we get our hands on the mod.
As of right now, however, it appears that the mod is unavailable to try out. It’s still very much in its early stages, but we won’t be able to add the power of Thanos to our game until JulioNIB finalizes things. When it does go live, you’ll only be able to play with the PC version of the game. But it’ll be well worth it, trust us on that. Thanos is always a force to be reckoned with, that’s for sure.
