A long-awaited, new Grand Theft Auto mode has been revealed as similar to Cops and Robbers – the most recent appearance of this being in Grand Theft Auto IV, which players loved to play with their friends. Today, Rockstar have announced that the mode has been added to Grand Theft Auto Online for free, alongside three brand new vehicles.
Labeled “The Vespucci Job”, the new Grand Theft Auto mode is described as “[t]he battle between predator and prey”, and will feature two teams battling against each other for victory. Based on a car chase out of The Italian Job, one team will be on the run in the Weeny Issi Classic, a brand new compact car, and they will be trying to hit every checkpoint before time runs out. Behind them will be the second team, who consist of police squad cars trying to kill the crooks. Rockstar Games recommend that gamers playing as the robbers should create a strategy by using narrow alleyways and tight turns to try avoid the police, who should also try cut them off.
Funnily enough, to celebrate the date of 4/20 on Friday, Rockstar are actually offering 50% off weed businesses, weed business upgrades and green tire smoke. Not just that, but Weed sales will actually earn you 50% more income. The mode, while being the featured addition, wasn’t the only thing added for free to players today. Three brand new vehicles, including the previously mentioned Weeny Issi Classic, have also been added to the game.
The Vapid Flash GT sports car is designed for stunt races and tracking the dirt terrain as a rally car. Based on the real-life Ford Fiesta RS, and at hefty price of $1,675,000, this rally car is available for purchase today at Legendary Motorsport.
The Weeny Issi Classic compact car is obviously based on the real-life Mini MK II. It is a vehicle designed for those who want to cruise in style and class, at a quite cheap price of $360,000, available at Southern San Andreas Super Autos.
The Sea Sparrow is a readdition to the game. Designed after the same helicopter from Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, the attack chopper has a unique feature of floating on water on top of flying in the air. You can buy it today from Elitas Travel for $1,815,000, and upgrade it to include a mounted .50 caliber machine gun and missiles.
In addition to Double GTA$ and RP rewards on The Vespucci Job, Bodyguards and Associates will also earn Double GTA$ Salaries from now through April 23rd. Finally, this week’s premium race is “In The City”, a stunt race locked to sports cars which traverse through the city of Los Santos. As always, the top 3 players in a premium race earn a large amount of GTA$ and every participant gets triple RP regardless.
