While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting plenty of new content in Season 4, Call of Duty: Warzone is also getting a host of its own updates. Of these, one which is now available in-game are the new in-match events; a totally new mechanic which can now occur in Warzone matches.
Call of Duty: Warzone In-Match Events
During some Warzone matches now that Season 4 is live, there is a chance that one of the new Warzone In-Match Events can activate. At present, there are three different events; Fire Sale, Jailbreak, and Supply Chopper. Note that typically, only one event will occur per match, and they will always occur midway through the match. (Specifically, after the first drop kit but before the Gulag closes.)
Fire Sale is the first of the new events, and its effects are quite simple. For 60 seconds, the vast majority of items available from the Buy Stations will be up to 80% off. Some items will even be free. Perhaps most notably, respawning a fallen squadmate at a Buy Station will always be free during a Fire Sale. Loadout Drops will never be on sale, however. Of course, because of the time limit on the Fire Sale, Buy Stations are likely to become focal points of combat as players race to take advantage of the discounts.
The second of the Warzone in-match events is Jailbreak, which can have a massive impact on a match when it occurs. When Jailbreak activates, every player currently in the Gulag (except any who are literally in the midst of fighting a 1v1) will be immediately released, all at once. Players will get a 60-second warning ahead of the Jailbreak, so squadmates will know that they don’t need to buy back fallen friends. Of course, it also means a huge influx of enemy players too!
Finally, the Supply Chopper event is a bit different to the other two. When this event occurs, a helicopter will spawn in Verdansk. This helicopter is very tough and heavily-armoured, but has no weapons. If players can shoot it down, the Supply Chopper will drop a cache of high-value loot. At a minimum, each Supply Chopper contains 3 UAVs, 2 armour boxes & munition boxes, a Gas Mask, a Grenade Launcher, and a hoard of Cash. However, if left undisturbed, a Supply Chopper will eventually leave the map.
