How to Unlock the New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare VLK Rogue Shotgun
As Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s second season continues, Infinity Ward has now released a third new weapon. Teased at the start of the season, the VLK Rogue Shotgun joins the Grau 5.56 Assault Rifle and Striker 45 SMG; both of which launched as part of the Season 2 Battle Pass last month. Unlike those, the new shotgun can be unlocked by completing an in-game challenge.
Unlocking the New VLK Rogue Shotgun
To unlock the new VLK Rogue Shotgun, head over to the Loadouts tab in Modern Warfare. There, choose a loadout and find the VLK Rogue in the shotguns section, where you’ll see its unlock criteria; “Using a shotgun with 5 attachments, get 7 kills in 15 different matches”. Then, put together the shotgun you want to use and get killing! It’s not the easiest challenge, but it’s more time-consuming than truly difficult. If you set your mind to it, you should have the VLK Rogue before too long.
This relatively small 12-gauge shotgun might not be the most powerful, but it could well be the most versatile in its class. This is thanks to its wide range of customisation options, which allows the VLK to be fine-tuned for all sorts of different playstyles. In fact, it has a totally unique attachment slot; the Pump Grip. With three options available, the Pump Grip slot lets you get greater control over the gun’s recoil.
Note that you can also acquire the blueprint for the VLK Rogue called the Pipeline, which is available in the Hang Ten bundle. The Pipeline features the 6″ Revolt, 5mW Laser, No Stock, 4 Round Mags, and Stippled Grip Tape attachments, making it a highly mobile hip-firing eliminator. In fact, Pipeline fits the requirements of a shotgun with 5 attachments, meaning that you could use it to complete the VLK Rogue Shotgun challenge. This would let you get some practice in with the new weapon before you unlock it to customise for yourself.
