New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe Japan Sales Numbers Revealed

Despite the holidays being over, Nintendo continues to be dominating the sales charts in Japan. Following New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe coming out, it’s on the top spot, beating Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Of its initial shipment, the game has sold over half of the copies available in retailers (52.53%). That being said, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate sold another 62,000 units this past week. Previously, it sold 200,00 units. Additionally, Tales of Vesperia made the list and sold over 68,000 copies between PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Dragon Quest Builders 2 also made the list for both Switch and PS4.

Japanese sales numbers for New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe revealed

New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe continues the trend of a Wii U port selling well on the Switch. Previously, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze came to the console last year. These sales numbers prove that people want to play ported version of Wii U games since most people didn’t own one. Over its console cycle, the Wii U sold 13,56 million units. Having been out since March 2017, the Nintendo Switch as sold over 22 million units.
