In a new collaboration between CD Projekt Red and Dark Horse Comics, a new Witcher comic series was announced today. ‘Of Flesh and Flame’: The New Witcher Comic Series

As reported by Comicbook.com, ‘Of Flesh and Flame,’ will feature Geralt of Rivia as its protagonist, though it’s currently unknown when the story will be set. The new mini-series features the writing of Aleksandra Motyka, who was a writer for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. The comic series’ art is the work of Marianna Strychowska, a Polish illustrator. Given that Dark Horse Comics is making the series in partnership with CD Projekt Red; it seems likely that it will treat the CD Projekt Red Witcher series as canon. It’s unknown whether it will take place before or after the events of Blood and Wine, the canonical end of the game series.

The Witcher Comic Series is Being Written by a Writer Who Worked on The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

Dark Horse Comics released the cover of the upcoming ‘Of Flesh and Flame’ comic today. It showcases Geralt standing ominously before a sleeping woman and the silhouette of a monster; “Geralt is summoned by an old friend to help solve a mystery involving his daughter,” says Dark Horse Comics, in their description of the series; “Upon his arrival, Geralt is surprised by another friend from the past and he soon finds himself transported to regions beyond his original expectations.”

All told, ‘Of Flesh and Flame’ will consist of four issues. It is currently available for pre-order. Dark Horse Comics will also be putting its The Witcher Library Edition on sale prior to the December release. That sale will begin on the 24th of October. The Library Edition includes issues of The Witcher’s House of Glass, Fox Children, Curse of Crows, and Killing Monsters. It also features a sketchbook including art from six different artists.
