NHL 21 Beta Registration: How to Sign Up and Latest Release Date Details

With the release date still unofficial, the NHL 21 Beta registration has officially started. Gamers will be able to sign up and participate in the beta to give their feedback on gameplay for limited modes. Here are the latest details on how to sign up for the beta, as well as the details on when the new NHL game is coming out.

EA opens up NHL 21 Beta registration

Within the past several days, EA has officially opened up their NHL 21 beta registration. In order to sign up, you’ll need to have a valid EA Account that you use with your video game system. Once you sign in at the page here, you’ll see an NHL Technical Test page where you can select your platform of choice: PlayStation 4 (in North American or elsewhere) or Xbox One.

You’ll also need to agree to EA’s terms and conditions by checking off a box. Make sure your details are correct including the email you use, your country, and your birthday. Once you’ve done all that click the red “Submit” button.

There’s no indication about how long NHL 21 beta registration will be online for, but once you submit the registration the message says within the next several weeks. Typically, EA will email a beta code to those who they select to participate within several weeks after sign up. That code is entered in the codes area on PlayStation Store (PS4) or Microsoft Store (Xbox) to download the free beta. That was the case with EA’s UFC 4 beta this past month.

Based on a previous EA blog post, they said gamers will get their first look at the new game in late August. It’s possible that’s when they’ll bring out the cover reveal along with pre-orders and the NHL 21 beta.

When is the new NHL game coming out?

We indicated in a previous NHL 21 release date post that EA announced they had pushed back the release for the new game. EA indicated they would shift from the “usual September window to October.” Last year, NHL 20 had an official release date of Sept. 13, 2019.

The new game arrives during a much different time for sports due to the coronavirus pandemic. Along with the NBA, the NHL was forced to postpone the season months ago. However, they’ve recently begun their season restart via bubble sites in Canada. The Stanley Cup will also take place there.

As far as the new NHL 21 game goes, we already made our official cover predictions. You can also check out our NHL 21 wishlist for features or upgrades we’d like to see included as part of the new game.
