Niantic Seems to Be Teasing Gen 4 for Pokemon Go

It’s the two-year anniversary for Pokemon GO and Niantic has released a neat-looking piece of artwork that has several trainers hanging out with some of the cutest Pokemon. Looking at the image for a little longer than a second, we noticed that there are several Pokemon from Gen 4, specifically the starters, shown in the picture. Gen 4 released back on the DS with Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and introduced these three starters to the world: Chimchar, Turtwig, and Piplup. Niantic hasn’t said anything about rolling out Gen 4 to the mobile game, but if this image doesn’t hint at a future update, we don’t know what does. Over the past two years the developers have been rolling out each and every new generation of Pokemon, so we’re bound to get Gen 4 and even eventually Gen 5, Gen 6, and Gen 7. You can see the artwork that was posted to their Twitter account below:

Niantic was asking people what their most memorable moments are from Pokemon Go, in commemoration of the anniversary. One of my most memorable moments was when I was in a downtown area with some friends and this was a few months after the launch of Pokemon GO. We all saw at the same time that a Pikachu was nearby, and none of us had seen the electric mouse yet, and neither have the people around the area as well. We were yelling across the street to other players if they had found a Pikachu and they yelled back “no, not yet, but this guy said that it’s over here.” We all then proceeded to walk a few blocks together to track down the Pikachu and we all managed to capture it successfully. It was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had with a video game ever.
