Overcooked 2 New Game+ Arrives Next Month

Overcooked 2 New Game+ will be arriving sometime before the end of next month in September. Though the sequel to the hit cooking indie title just launched exactly a week ago, fans who have already powered through its 45 levels can be happy to know that this is just the beginning. An update was posted recently on the official Steam page for the game, giving us a glimpse at what’s to come.

The Overcooked 2 New Game+ mode will allow players who have already beaten all 45 levels to go back and start the game over with an added bonus. Currently, each level only allows you to achieve three stars. Right now, gaining three stars is the highest score that players can get for each level.

The Overcooked 2 New Game+ mode will totally change that. If you beat the game and start over again, you will have the opportunity to play every level in order to beat the greater challenge of achieving four stars with all 45 levels that are in the game. This will extend the possible game time for the title beyond what is currently available.

It remains to be seen what else the developer has in store for the game past the Overcooked 2 New Game+. The original title received not one but two hefty expansions over the course of its lifetime, greatly expanding the challenges and levels for fans. We can only hope that a similar situation will happen for its sequel.

If for some reason you are reading this and haven’t picked up Overcooked 2, you can grab it right now as it launched a week ago on August 7, 2018. It is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. In the meantime, make sure to check out our post about what other titles are coming out soon like Spider-Man for PS4.
