Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Announced for Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Steam

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy has been announced for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The announcement was made during the Ace Attorney panel early this morning at TGS 2018 in Japan. The package is similar to the Nintendo 3DS version, featuring the first three titles in the series with revamped graphics and much more.

The upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy marks the series’ first time making its way to consoles other than a Nintendo platform as well as PC (if you don’t include the anime adaptation). The trilogy contains the original Ace Attorney, its sequel Justice For All, and the third game Trials and Tribulations.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy will have updated visuals and UI just like the Nintendo 3DS version of the collection. It will release in early 2019 in Japan. It has been confirmed to have English and Japanese language options but no Western release confirmation just yet. The Japanese version of the trilogy has both a collector’s edition available and an e-Capcom Limited Edition.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy follows the titular attorney Phoenix Wright as he investigates, interrogates, and objects his way to solving various crimes. Each game has several cases to play through that tie together in some fashion, be it a common villain or theme. While serious with its twists and turns, it is also known for its bizarre and goofy tone at other times.

The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is beloved by many for its memorable cast of characters, many of which are outright caricatures. The series has six main games as well as a few spin-offs. The second trilogy has yet to be announced for any platforms and is only currently available as a whole on Nintendo 3DS and mobile. While a seventh game has been teased, a formal announcement wasn’t given at the TGS 2018 panel.
