A New Way to Connect

Here’s what the PlayStation Blog has to say about the event:

“State of Play will give you updates and announcements from the world of PlayStation. Our first episode will showcase upcoming PS4 and PS VR software, including new trailers, new game announcements and new gameplay footage.”

Additionally, PlayStation states that this won’t be the only “State of Play” showcase. There will be several throughout the year updating gamers on what’s ahead for PlayStation. It’s unclear as to how long the presentation will be.

With Nintendo and Microsoft all having their own video presentations, it’s about time PlayStation jumped on the bandwagon. With PlayStation pulling out of E3 this year, that’ll give them a chance to discuss their plans for the year and talk to the gaming community.

Some Expectations

As for what to expect from “State of Play,” it’s tough to say. An obvious prediction is that there won’t be any news regarding the next generation of PlayStation hardware. That announcement will probably be saved for a conference later this year or so. Looks at games like Days Gone, Dreams, and Medevil are possible candidates for live stream. Additionally, Patapon 2, a game we haven’t heard from in a while, could make a reappearance on Monday.

Additionally, some third-party announcements from games such as Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 4, or Destiny 2 could pop up.
