PlayStation Plus September 2018 Free Games: September Predictions

Our first prediction for September is an Assassin’s Creed game. There are a lot of highly anticipated games lined up for release in October, one of which is Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Xbox Games with Gold has run some Assassin’s Creed titles for free this year, including Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia. Surely Sony will want to compete with some similar free offerings.

Since Sony has offered Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry and Assassin’s Creed III in the past, it seems likely they too might choose to up the anticipation for the release of Odyssey by offering another title in the franchise for free next month. Perhaps they too will opt for India or Russia, or maybe they will offer the more recent Origins.

Since Dark Souls is being released as a trilogy in October for PS4 and Xbox One, another possibility is a game from the series. Demon’s Souls was offered for free through PS Plus back in 2013. Maybe we will get another chance to play it free, or perhaps it will be Dark Souls, Dark Souls II or Dark Souls III.

With For Honor: Marching Fire DLC coming out in October as well, Xbox Games with Gold has made For Honor available through September 15th. Sony has yet to feature For Honor, so that too is a possibility for next month.

Another September prediction is Gravity Rush 2. Sony featured the original Gravity Rush back in 2012 for free through PlayStation Plus, but has yet to feature the sequel. It’s been more than a year since it came out, so it seems high time to offer it for free for a month.

For Vita, our prediction is Gem Smashers. This popular puzzle game was released more than a year ago on Vita, and has not yet been offered for free through PS Plus. With 100 levels to challenge us, it would keep us busy through the month of September.

Of course, there are a lot of other strong possibilities for September. A few more we think might just make the list are Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Battlefield 4, and Red Dead Redemption. Be sure to swing by next Wednesday to find out which games Sony picked to offer free for the month of September on PS Plus!
