Pokemon Let’s GO Flying Guide – How to Achieve

As a fairly new player to Pokemon games, you might have a hard way finding out how the Pokemon Let’s GO Flying ability works. In reality, making it happen isn’t hard, it just needs some progression into the game having a pokemon that can fly. Pretty straightforward right?

To start off on your Pokemon Let’s GO Flying journey, you’ll have to proceed to Celadon City. Once there, head inside the Rocket Game Corner. After you enter, look for the poster to the right of the clerk inside and interact with it. This will open up a staircase that will lead you to the basement. There you can find Team Rocket’s Secret Headquarters.

After you defeat Team Rocket, an NPC will appear outside of the Rocket Game Corner. Talk to him and he’ll tell you about Sky Dash, a secret technique that he can teach to your Eevee or Pikachu, depending on which version of the game you own. Now, you have the ability to fly, using your Pikachu or Eevee anytime. Just, go outside the building and find the baloon machine in order to use it.

This ability doesn’t let you fly above ground though, just teleports you from place to place.

Ho to use Pokemon Let's GO flying on Nintendo Switch

To use the actual Pokemon Let’s GO flying technique with pokemon, you’ll have to first own a flying rideable species. These are Charizard, Dragonite and Aerodactyl.

Specifically, you can fly but not above obstacles, trees and water. However, you can unlock a fly higher skill later own. To obtain it, you have to defeat the Elite four. After you do, you’ll get a confirmation that you can now fly higher. Just ride one of the aforementioned pokemon and you’ll see that in action.

Apart from the ability to dodge battles by floating above them, the Pokemon Let’s GO flying ability has another important use. You can get other flying pokemon in the sky like this. How about an Articuno? Or a brand new Zapdos? You might have another shot at getting them after the initial fights with them.
