Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! Nintendo Switch Pre-Orders Have Declined Significantly

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! Nintendo Switch pre-orders have begun to decline significantly. The last few weeks have seen the rankings for pre-orders of the games and their respective bundles drop below the 50 best-selling games on Amazon in both the United States and in the games’ home country of Japan. Reports of this come via NintendoSoup.

NintendoSoup reports that, at the time of publishing its reports, that Amazon Japan had pre-orders for the Pikachu and Poke Ball Plus bundle ranked at 64 on the list of best-selling video games. Here in the US, a similar ranking is found for the games as the standard Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu! video game is sitting at number 61.

On the other end of the spectrum, Nintendo’s other flagship title for this holiday season, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, is sitting at number two on the best-selling list on Amazon Japan and it is currently the number one best-selling video game on Amazon US. You can find the placements of Nintendo Switch games currently on the best-selling list on Amazon US below:

  • 1. Super Smash Bros Ultimate
  • 19. Super Mario Party
  • 20. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  • 22. Super Mario Odyssey
  • 25. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  • 47. Octopath Traveler
  • 57. Mario Tennis Aces
  • 60. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate
  • 61. Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu!
  • 86. Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee!
  • 98. Pikachu Poke Ball Plus Bundle
  • 105. Eevee Poke Ball Plus Bundle

The Amazon Japan list is very similar. Though this can be somewhat concerning for the upcoming games, there could be a lot of factors behind this. For one, Super Smash Bros Ultimate had a Nintendo Direct last week that was entirely focused on the upcoming fighting game. This has generated a ton of popularity and conversation around the game.

As such, that means that much of the gaming community isn’t thinking about the Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! games right now. This could certainly change if Nintendo chooses to do a similar Direct for those titles in the near future.
