PS5 Release Date Might Be November 2020

Sony has yet to announce when the PlayStation 5 is going to release. Nevertheless, we can make an educated guess at this point that the PS5 release date could be next year. To date, there are a few indications that the holiday 2020 window is a realistic timeframe for Sony to release its next gen console.

Why the PS5 Release Date Could Be November 2020

First of all, November 2020 is the rumored release date, although details are virtually nonexistent. All we heard was that there is a “new report” which claims this is the likely window.

Secondly, a holiday release window in 2020 for the PlayStation 5 just makes sense. This is when Xbox Scarlett will become available. And would Sony really want Microsoft to get a head start with next gen console sales? If Sony wants to get a leg up on the competition (or even keep up), we would think they would make sure their console is also available for the holidays next year. The holidays give shoppers a sense of urgency, and they may not feel like waiting to buy a PS5 when they can already get an Xbox Scarlett.

But this does not mean this is the only possible release date for the PlayStation 5. In fact, there are still analysts who believe that it is unlikely that the PS5 will even be ready for release next year. If they are correct, the actual release date for Sony’s next generation console could be sometime in 2021.

But news regarding the PlayStation 5 has been picking up pace lately, with more and more information coming out about the possible capabilities of the console. In particular, it seems like there is a focus on making uninterrupted gameplay possible. Long load times for games as well as loading screens between areas for open world games may no longer be an issue on the PS5. But there are sure to be many more exciting innovations with the PS5 as well.

So how long will Sony make us wait to find out the official PS5 release date? We have no idea. They could make an official announcement anytime. But they may also put off doing so for a while longer. Either way, we’ll report it to you in our PlayStation news section. We’ll also be sure and let you know of any more release date rumors for the PS5 in the meantime.
