We keep waiting and waiting to finally get our first glimpse of the PlayStation 5. But Sony has been playing its cards close to the vest. Eventually though—and it cannot be much longer now—the company is going to need to finally reveal the PS5 to the public. Now, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier has spoken up about Sony’s possible plans, and hinted that he believes the PS5 reveal date is soon.
What Schreier Said About the PS5 Reveal Date
On Twitter, a user asked Schreier when Sony might schedule a reveal date for the next gen console. Schreier replied with, “Few more weeks I believe.”
A timeframe like a “few more weeks” leaves a fair amount of leeway. But that makes it sound like it could happen as early as next month, or possibly in June.
Another journalist, Games Beat writer Jeffrey Grubb, also recently gave a potential date for the PS5 reveal, stating on ResetEra that it is “currently planned for June 4.” So, both Grubb and Schreier seem to be referencing a consistent and plausible timeframe.
Both of these journalists are trustworthy sources, and they could very well be right about the PS5 reveal date. But it is important to remember that these are still just rumors. Until Sony makes an announcement, there is nothing official to go off of, and we just have to hope that the reveal date will be sooner rather than later.
