PUBG Fans Have Downloaded PUBG Mobile Over 50 Million Times

Fortnite Mobile may be lighting up the charts, but that hasn’t stopped the mobile port of PUBG from being downloaded over 50 million times in the span of just two months. That’s a lot of downloads, especially when you consider how many other apps there are out there — so this is an impressive feat. The free-to-play mobile PUBG port rocketed to the top of the App Store’s most-played games, according to a recent report from Sensor Tower, and it’s probably only going to do better as time goes by.

This kind of success has given Chinese company Tencent the throne in terms of overall app downloads across the entire world, and numbers like these only serve to cement its position out in the world as a formidable and successful conglomerate that’s got nowhere to go but up.

PUBG’s mobile app is essentially the same game as its big brother on consoles and PC, though it’s nowhere as advanced as the PC version, of course. That’s a given, since the Xbox One version isn’t even anywhere near the patch update version that the PC version has. But while this number of downloads is still very impressive, it’s important to remember that Fortnite’s mobile version has been doing even better, generating around $50 million around May 5, for example. It’s doing the business, you have to agree, and it’s still a force to be reckoned with.

There’s still a long way to go until the mobile app reaches any sort of parity with the regular versions, but we’ll be seeing it continue to rise in popularity until it finally does, and we’ll be here reporting on it when it happens. In the meantime, make sure you sign up for the new map to test on the PC version — Sanhok — and see how you like it!
